Vegan diet propels MS & Cancer patient to run 5K this weekend.

I’ll be taking my first stab at running an actual race for the first time since my diagnosis of MS.

Okay, it will be more like a “jog” than a “run” but this weekend I’m going to try and actually run an entire 5K race for the first time since my diagnosis of MS almost 10 years ago.

I did “walk” a 5k a few years ago, and the experience was rather humiliating, but since going Vegan about 22 months ago; I’ve lost almost 25 pounds, I feel better than I have even before my illness, and I’ve actually started jogging a couple of times a week.

This may not sound like much, but for me–a guy who was walking, barely, with a cane just 3 years ago–it’s quite remarkable.

So, wish me luck. I hope to be the first 50 year-old with both MS and Cancer across the finish line.
